My name is Dawnielle (or Dawn/Siryn, either is fine ) and I’m an avid comic book reader, anime watcher, and video game player. I have a great love of make up and I wanted to make this a place my fellow fangirls/geeks/nerds could come and share their love of make up with me as well.
I graduated from the Art Institute with a Bachelor’s in Web Design and Interactive Media. I mainly focus on the Interactive Media part which has me doing Motion Graphics, Video Editing, Sound Design and Filmmaking. I wasn’t too swift with the web design part as I’m not really much of a code writer. I know enough to get by
I’ve been reading comics since I was 12 years old, with my biggest love being Marvel Comics, the X-Men books/teams in particular. I read a LOT of titles a month ranging from Avengers to X-Men and everything in between (no joke lol). I also read Vertigo Comics like iZombie. I also read some Top Cow comics like Witchblade, Darkness, etc. I love comic books so much!
The weekly anime I watch are Bleach and Fairy Tail. I also really enjoyed series like Wallflower, Fruits Basket, Ouron High School Host Club, Inu Yasha (INU YASHAAAA! KAGOMEEEEEE!! :P), Hellsing, Hellsing Ultimate, Trigun, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and a ton of other anime! I’m always looking for more suggestions so feel free to offer some!
Video games I’ve been known to play are City of Heroes/Villains, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Fables (including sequels), Final Fantasy, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom, X-Men vs. Streetfighter, etc etc (keepin’ it oldschool!).
And lastly, I’m a costumer. As in, I design and create/sew original costumes to wear to events (Steampunk, Victorian, Fantasy, etc) and for background extra work for movies and television (You can spot me in the Steampunk episode of Castle as well as in the movie Paul in an end Comic Con scene :D). My most creative ones are made for the yearly masquerade ball The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerde Ball (Google it! ) My mother and I work together on making them a reality, which is a crazy creative process . It’s a lot of fun and I do enjoy doing it. You can see some of my costumes here:
Well that’s me in a nutshell! Thanks for reading!
