Halloween Series: Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) Inspired EOTD!

Hey True Believers!

Today I have a fun, EOTD (Eye of the Day) for you that kind of fits into the Halloween theme for this month. I chose to do an EOTD inspired by Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman. Spiders and Halloween are a natural match! :)

I based this more on her costume, than her costume and powers as the green of her venom blasts just didn’t look right thrown in there. I also did a variant with lower lashes, and then some shots without. I didn’t know which I liked more so I’m putting them both in here! :)

Also, Lime Crime was kind enough to send me three eyeliners, two of which are brand new and unreleased called Rhyme and Reason to try out. I used Rhyme in this look as the gold liner above the black liner.

Rhyme and Reason will be officially announced and available as a discounted set for a 24-hour window ONLY October 22-23. After the 24 hours, they will be gone until their permanent return this Holiday Season.

Anyway, I hope you all like!

Psylocke (Armored Costume) Inspired Look!

Hey True Believers!

Today I have a Psylocke inspired look for you! Psylocke, aka Betsy Braddock, is a member of the X-Men (currently X-Force) who is a mutant that has the powers of telepathy and telekenisis. I based this look off of her armored costume from the late 80s before she got sucked into the Siege Perilous, kidnapped by The Hand, and her mind forced into the body of the Japanese assassin known as Kwannon. (Prior to all of that, Betsy was a caucasian woman from England).

I used a nail dotting kit to get the kinetic energy dots from her psychic knife which is a new technique for me that I’m still playing with. I chose to make the eyebrows and the eyeliner in glitter to represent her armor. This was taking me so long, that I decided to only give one eye the psychic knife which is kind of funny because Betsy usually only uses one hand for that, so it worked out. This is my favorite Psylocke costume, so of course I chose to tackle this one first. :)

This also gave me the opportunity to use the Violet Noir lashes Faux Lash was kind enough to send me! A small review of the lashes will be in the bottom of this post.

Enjoy!

Lila Cheney Inspired Look!

Hey True Believers!

Today’s look is inspired by the one and only, Lila Cheney! Lila is British, an intergalactic rock star, and a mutant with the power of intergalactic teleportation. She’s been one of my favorite characters for so long and I’m bummed that she hasn’t been used recently. She was introduced in the early 80s and was modeled after Joan Jett (I mean, common look at this).

Lila doesn’t wear a costume, nor is she a super hero. She’s a rock star (and former thief) so she tends to have different outfits when she does pop up. She did wear this little leather number for quite a while in the 90s (along with another outfit she has with a dotted skirt)  but this is how I remember Lila. Black leather jacket, black bustier, black bootie shorts, black thigh high boots and hoop earrings. (and an awesome haircut I actually used to have lol. I miss it). Anyway, I based this look off of her black outfit and blue hair highlights (used to show that a character’s hair is black in comic books). I also added some blue shimmer on the brow bone to represent her teleportation power.

I’ve also had the pleasure of having Fauxlash send me lashes to do looks with! This was the perfect opportunity to use the Dev* lashes (OMG I wanted these so bad and was thrilled to have them sent to me!). I mean, it was PERFECT! They are so rock and roll, just like Lila! And they were made for the singer Dev so it was natural they would be great for Lila as well (Check her out wearing them in her video for “In the Dark“.)! So there will also be a mini review on them in this post.

Also, Faith, owner of Evil Pawn Jewelryhas been a dear friend of mine for some years now and was kind enough to bestow one of her Demonia* necklaces on me! So I decided to wear it and her Crystal Cameo Skull Ring (Limited Edition!) I purchased with this look. They are a perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe and her jewelry is very high quality and show stoppers! Definitely worth the investment! The lightening bolt earrings I bought at Pursebuzz’s booth at IMATS LA.

Enjoy!

Storm Inspired Look! (Ver.1)

Hey True Believers!

I know some of you have been waiting for a good while for me to do a Storm look. I’ve been putting it off until I could get something special for it (She’s definitely one of my top 5 favorite super heroines and favorite X-Men of all time, so I wanted to do her right and do her justice), but then some friends of mine had an Avengers themed costume birthday party this past weekend and I decided to go as casual Storm. (I even wore my awesome new Tokidoki Storm hoodie (not pictured >.<)!!). I figured this would be a good opportunity to do the Storm look. :) I’m going to call this a version 1 (I plan on doing other versions at some point ;) ) as this one is based on both of her gold and black costumes (the one pictured above and her original from the 70s which was slightly different and included her bloodstone/ruby brooch and bikini like top and bottom.)

I blended the white (that represents her hair) and the black (her costume) in the middle into a “stormy” gray which to me, was a representation of her powers over the weather, as well as the gold lightening bolt along the outside which pulled from the gold in her costume and also represented her ability to conjure lightning.

(Ps. I’m sorry about my skin! I’m having weird skin/dry patch issues. >.< Oh the joys of being a woman! lol Also, the wig I’m wearing is white, but the reflection off of my halter top and the bathroom walls made it look blonde >.<)

(PPs. I’m not wearing contacts. I photoshopped my iris blue.)

I hope you like!

Enjoy!

Hellcat/Patsy Walker Inspired Look!

Hey True Believers!

There’s no denying that I have a great love of the comic book characters that don’t get a lot of love. I was super surprised when I did a little clothes shopping for my birthday a few weeks ago and came across TWO t-shirts that had Hellcat on them, a character who is more obscure if you’re not super into comic books. I freaking LOVE Hellcat and of course bought them both! I thought this would be a great time to do a Hellcat look since I’ve been seriously loving the two shirts I got! (I wish Marvel would use her more. She had a mini a few years ago, but I want more Patsy!!)

Patsy Walker has been around since the 1940s and started out as a non super hero that was the star of comics meant for girls that were mostly about romance and comedy. It wasn’t until the 1970s that Marvel decided to make her into a super heroine and she became Hellcat! I based this look on her costume of course and wanted to give it a bit of her personality too. I wanted it to be something Patsy would wear :) She’s a fun girl after all!

Can you all do me a favor and go to the Makeupbee website and like my new look! It’ll help me get into the top 10 Summer Looks Competition they’re having. Thank you! :D
